Identify both ends of the link
Record the camera and host model, interface and mating connector. Include the locking arrangement and cable exit direction. Separate image data, power and trigger connections in your drawing so each has an explicit requirement.
Describe the route and movement
Measure the installed route, including service loops and access to fasteners. Identify fixed sections, moving carriers and twisting joints. An interface label alone does not establish motion suitability; check the individual cable specification.
Define a sample acceptance check
Agree how to check mechanical fit and image acquisition on the intended equipment. Record acquisition settings, operating duration and any motion sequence. Keep that setup with the approved drawing for repeat orders.
Frequently asked questions
What should I check on a USB3 Vision screw lock cable?
Check the camera and host connectors separately, including screw positions, thread requirements, tool access and exit direction. Request views of the exact assembly. A Micro-B connector or screw-lock label alone does not prove the cable's length, power capability or suitability for a moving installation.
Camera Link MDR vs SDR: can the two ends differ?
Yes. Specify the camera-side and frame-grabber-side connector independently; an MDR-to-SDR assembly may be needed. Check the equipment manuals for operating mode, required links and PoCL support. Matching the connector family does not establish compatibility with every Camera Link configuration.
How do I choose CoaXPress BNC, DIN or HD-BNC connectors?
Read the exact connector designation at both equipment ports rather than ordering by CoaXPress alone. Confirm locking, access, link rate, length and any PoCXP requirement against both manuals. Ask for an assembly review; this checklist does not certify a Qicable model for a particular camera or CXP rate.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a right-angle connector without checking which direction it exits.
- Treating a short bench test as acceptance for the full installed route.
What to include in your inquiry
- Camera and host model or port documentation
- Connector views, locking details and required length
- Route sketch and movement description
- Sample quantity and intended acquisition test
Use this checklist to prepare a specification. Confirm the final assembly against your equipment documentation and the agreed drawing.
